Overview
This notice tells you, pursuant to Art. 13 GDPR, which data is processed on marcompile.com and in the apps of marcompile, for what purpose and on what basis.
Controller
Marc Kimmel, contact@marcompile.com. Full details in the imprint.
Server logs
When you open the site, the server stores your IP address, the time, the referrer, the user agent and the requested page. This serves operation and defence against attacks. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Deleted after 14 days at the latest.
Own reach measurement
The site counts by itself how often its pages are opened. In addition, it sets the cookie mc_besucher with a random identifier and records which pages are opened under this identifier and when. This shows how many different people visit the site and which paths they take. If you are signed in, the visits stored under this identifier are assigned to your account. Your IP address is not stored, and nothing of this is shared. If you decline in the notice at the bottom, everything stored under your identifier is deleted. If you withdraw your consent further below, nothing new is stored. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, with your consent Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Google Analytics
This site additionally uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how it is used. The Google script loads on every visit in the so-called consent mode and only works fully with your consent: then it sets cookies, recognises you across visits and processes your shortened IP address, your device, the pages you open and similar usage data. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Data is also transferred to Google LLC in the United States, on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which Google has joined. Advertising features and Google signals are switched off. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. Without your consent Google sets no cookies and does not recognise you. A signal without any identifier is still sent to Google so that anonymous totals can be estimated from it, and your IP address is transmitted in the process. The basis for this is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. If you withdraw your consent, the cookies that were set are deleted immediately. The cookies expire after 24 months at the latest, the data in Google Analytics after 14 months. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future:
Account and sign-in with Google
You can sign in with your Google account. Google then transmits your e-mail address, your name and your profile picture. The first time, you create an account and provide a first name and a username, optionally a last name and a date of birth. Both are stored: what Google provides and what you enter yourself. A copy of your profile picture is stored on the server of this site when you first sign in. You can change or remove it in your profile. This serves the operation of your account, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Signing in uses a cookie that is technically necessary and only identifies the session. You can delete your account completely at any time at marcompile.com/delete. The visits of reach measurement assigned to your account then remain without any link to you.
Sign-in with e-mail and password
Instead of Google, you can create an account with your e-mail address and a password. For this you provide your e-mail address, a password, a first name and a username. Your address and your account details are stored. The password is never stored in plain text, only as a hash using the Argon2id method, from which it cannot be recovered. For signing in, the server sends you e-mails from a mailbox of this site: a link to confirm your address, valid for 24 hours, a four-digit code with every sign-in, valid for 10 minutes, and on request a link to reset your password, valid for 60 minutes. A link or code becomes invalid once it is used or expires. This serves the management of your account and thus the performance of the contract of use, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. The data remains stored until you delete your account at marcompile.com/delete.
Kleiner Kalender app
For the Android app Kleiner Kalender, what this section says applies in addition. The app needs no account and works entirely without signing in.
Data on your device
Most data stays on your device only and is not transmitted:
- birthdays you have entered, with name, date and optionally a picture
- your own events, with name, date, symbol and description
- the app settings, for example language, appearance, colours and reminder times
- birthdays from your phonebook if you allow access. They are only displayed in the app, contact data is not uploaded.
- your location if you allow it. The app uses it on the device to calculate sunrise and sunset and does not send it anywhere.
This data is removed completely when you uninstall the app.
Synchronisation with a Google account
If you choose to sign in to the app with your Google account, you can synchronise selected data between several devices. Only to the extent you switch on, the following data is then transmitted to the marcompile server and assigned to your account there:
- Google ID, e-mail address, display name and address of the profile picture
- a random device identifier so that changes from several devices fit together
- only if switched on: birthdays, your own events and the app settings
- on request the associated pictures, either never, on Wi-Fi only or always
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the contract of use) and your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. The data remains stored until you delete it, see below.
Public calendar data
The app regularly retrieves public calendar data from the marcompile server: public holidays, special days, school holidays, daily highlights and the moon calendar. In doing so it sends a random device identifier, which the server uses to count how many devices use the app each day. As long as you are not signed in, this identifier is not assigned to any account. The IP address is briefly recorded in the server logs and deleted after 14 days at the latest. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Advertising via Google AdMob
If your version of the app contains advertising, you can unlock certain detail views without a subscription by starting a video ad yourself. Google AdMob then processes the advertising ID of the device, the IP address, device model, operating system version and information about the use of the app. Before the first ad, the Google consent dialog (User Messaging Platform) asks for your consent. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with § 25(1) TDDDG. The Google privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Subscription via Google Play
Purchase and management of a subscription to the app are handled by Google Play only. Payment data, names and billing addresses are not transmitted to marcompile and not stored. Google Ireland Limited, Dublin, is responsible for processing the transaction.
Notifications
The app schedules reminders, for example for birthdays, on your device only. No data is transmitted for this and no push services are used.
Deleting the app data
In the app settings, the button "Delete data on the servers" deletes all data stored on the server for your account. Without the app you can do this at marcompile.com/delete after signing in with the same Google account. An informal e-mail to support@marcompile.com is sufficient as well.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR), to withdraw a consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR) as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). An informal e-mail to contact@marcompile.com is sufficient.
Changes
This notice is adapted when the services or the legal situation change. The current version is available at marcompile.com/en/dataprivacy.
